Ethos16 Documentation & FAQs

Everything you need to operate the Snap-Decision Swipe Engine, read your Cognitive Schematic, understand the Audio Briefing system, and manage your local data.

Module 01

The Snap-Decision Swipe Engine

Traditional MBTI assessments require reading 100+ long statements with 7-point Likert scales, producing severe cognitive fatigue. Ethos16 replaces this with 16 rapid binary micro-prompts designed for sub-60-second completion — no essay questions, no rating scales.

Swipe Mechanics

Swipe Left / ←
Selects Option A — Tactical, Logic-first, Quiet, or Structured response
Swipe Right / →
Selects Option B — Abstract, Values-led, Social, or Adaptive response
Swipe Up / ↑
Flags extreme urgency or strong preference — amplifies the axis weight
Keyboard navigation fully supported — no touch input required

Module 02

Interactive Cognitive System Schematics

After completing the assessment, results render as an interactive SVG schematic mapping your cognitive system architecture across 4 nodes. Each node is tappable — clicking opens a detailed micro-panel with mechanic descriptions, ingestion filters, and stress triggers.

The 4 Cognitive Nodes

Primary Input Node
Perception Layer

Maps how you ingest information — concrete sensory details (Sensing) vs. abstract patterns and possibilities (Intuition).

Governance Engine
Decision Layer

Maps how options are filtered — logical analysis and criteria (Thinking) vs. values alignment and relational impact (Feeling).

Executor Vector
Action Layer

Maps execution style — planned, structured completion (Judging) vs. adaptive, open-ended improvisation (Perceiving).

Overheat Node
Stress Vulnerability

Highlights capacity bottlenecks under extreme pressure. Lights up in Pressure Mode with specific friction and decompression triggers.

Live Mode Toggle

Flow StateOptimal operating condition — peak cognitive performance.
Under PressureStress scenario — activates Overheat Node with friction triggers.
Team DynamicCollaboration mode — highlights interpersonal adjustment vectors.

Module 03

Audio Briefings & Motion Identity Cards

For users who prefer listening over reading, Ethos16 includes a 30-second audio briefing of your cognitive archetype paired with a real-time canvas waveform visualizer. A 5-second looping Motion Identity Card can be generated for social sharing.

Audio Engine

Chirp3 HD · Google Cloud TTS

Neural HD voice synthesis. Active when a GOOGLE_TTS_API_KEY is configured. Delivers MP3 audio with natural prosody.

Browser Audio Preview

Fallback to Web Speech API when no API key is set. No setup required — works out of the box on all major browsers.

Module 04

Local Browser Persistence & Data Control

All report data and team dyad comparisons are saved exclusively inside your browser's localStorage. No personal data is transmitted to or stored on servers. You have full control to inspect and delete saved records at any time.

What is saved

Report ID, archetype code, nickname, swipe axis percentages, timestamp.

Where it lives

Your browser's localStorage under the ethos16- key prefix. Never leaves your device.

How to delete

Open the Storage Manager (navigation bar icon) and select "Purge All" or delete individual reports.
